I Just Can’t Quit You
During the last few weeks or maybe even months, I’ve contemplated giving this whole blog thing up. However, I’ve come to find that it’s such a big part of who I am that I just can’t give it up. Of course, I’ve now lost a good portion of my readership. They’ve surely given up on me at this point. Still, I want to carry on.
So, in an attempt to kick start this mother, I am going to write this blog post about how I’m going to write a lot of blog posts. I mean, if I put it in writing, in digital ink that means it will happen, right?
There will be few promises as to what I will post, but I want to post every day. That’s right. I’m going from like once or twice this summer to full-on daily blogging. The posts will vary in size and quality, but something will happen here every day. Every. Single. Day.
Well, today’s done. Maybe tomorrow I’ll tell you about those records that keep arriving in the mail or that beer I had with dinner. Whatever happens, you can expect more Beer and PavementTM on the daily, yo.
So, don’t you give on me. I haven’t.
Brilliant news. I’ve hit a real lull myself, primarily because real life has got in the way of blogging fun. I think my periods of greater posting activity have corresponded with times when the blogs I follow have been active too, so I’m hoping your daily posts spur me into some sort of action. Anyway, really looking forward to a regular Beer & Pavement fix.
Now that I am sure one of you still reads, I’ll have to post more often.
I dunno — your last post got folks adding comments over a number of weeks, so you have committed readership. Why not just post when you have something to say and not feel stressed or pressured by “having to write” something? Or is this more of a “write every day to build discipline,” like practicing an instrument or exercising daily?
Also, we don’t leave — you’re in everybody’s RSS feed! So if you were deliberately not writing to make us go away, it won’t work!
Also also, Russian River’s use of Comic Sans gives me great joy in that something so small causes so much agita! http://www.mcsweeneys.net/articles/im-comic-sans-asshole
All fair points, Bill. You are my voice of reason…aside from the Comic Sans bit. It’s more of a discipline thing. I’ll post a lot of brief writings, but there will be longer, more thoughtful fair constructed on the side. I’m hoping this will keep me fresh and engaged. I enjoy this too much to let it slide for too long. Thanks for the encouragement.
Keep on keepin on Zac!
I just started reading your blog. Who can write these many stories about beer? There may be some people, but I don’t know any except YOU! So, yeah, keep going!
Apparently, I’ve run out of stories for the moment. We’ll see.
